Company History

Populytics is built upon a rich history of health industry expertise and a team of forward-thinking individuals who anticipated the movement to value-based care. We armed ourselves with the tools necessary to gather data that has enabled us to take action on improving quality of care, while bending the cost curve.

1988

Emerged from Spectrum Administrators, Inc., founded in 1988 to manage the employee health and dental plans of Lehigh Valley Health Network (LVHN).

1993

Grew into a full-service TPA providing services to employers in PA, NJ, MD, VA, NY and DC.

1994

Made initial investments in IT by procuring a claims processing solution to increase efficiency.

2003

Developed a data warehouse for populating LVHN health plan data into tool sets to gain insights into the plan design.

2003-2006

Implemented electronic claims standards and contracted for national clearinghouse services to streamline claims processing and payment processes.

2007

Rolled out secure web portals facilitating self-service claims and wellness functions for members and providers.

2008

Branded BeneFIT Corporate WellnessSM  and added more services to our Internet platform to support corporate wellness initiatives and help members improve their health.

2011

Added Health Coaching services to employee wellness offerings, and the first educator on the BeneFIT staff became a Master Certified Health Education Specialist. National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA) certification followed, with recertification in 2013 and 2015.

2012

Made investments in risk stratification, episodic bundling, risk analysis, and other tools to facilitate experience analysis, predictive modeling and targeted member identification.

2013

Partnered with Optum™ and Tableau® for business intelligence tools to support analytics for plan modeling, benefit design and care management intervention.

2014

Rebranded as Populytics to represent the approach to Population Health Management through applied analytics.

2015

Partnered with a large health system and added several employers to our client portfolio, providing population health analytics, corporate wellness programs, clinical care coordination, and consulting services to support each organization’s objectives to contain health care costs and improve the overall health of the community.
