Michaels was certified on March 27 after completing a course on population health outcomes and a rigorous written examination. She is currently one of 16 individuals nationwide who bear the designation.
The Validation Institute is a collaborative effort between Care Innovations™ and disease management and research expert Al Lewis. The goal of the Institute is to improve standards for measuring remote care management solutions and to give population health organizations an easy way to ensure that vendors and consultants adhere to the highest standards of validity.
Michaels is a Master Certified Health Education Specialist (MCHES) and has over 12 years’ experience working with a variety of stakeholders to address health issues in youth and adults, ranging from federal National Institutes of Health (NIH) programs to grass-roots community initiatives. She earned her Master of Public Health degree, with a concentration in community health, from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro and her Bachelor of Science degree in biology from Bucknell University, Lewisburg, Pa.
