Robert X. Murphy Jr., MD, MS, CPE, FACS

President and CEO

Dr. Murphy oversees all operations within Populytics related to population health analytics, LVHN Health Plan operations, and value-based contract execution. Holding a dual role as Executive Vice President and Chief Physician Executive for Lehigh Valley Health Network (LVHN), he also assumes network responsibilities for Valley Preferred. His focus is on accelerating adoption of population health strategies and advancing execution of value-based initiatives and programming.

A specialist in Plastic/Reconstructive Surgery and Cosmetic Surgery, Dr. Murphy received his medical degree from New York University School of Medicine, New York, NY, and a Master of Science from Pennsylvania State University, State College, PA. He is certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery in plastic surgery and surgery of the hand, is LVHN’s Leonard Parker Pool Chair in Community Health & Health Studies, and a Professor of Surgery with Morsani College of Medicine.

As a founding member of the International Confederation of Plastic Surgery Societies (ICOPLAST), Dr. Murphy traveled the world working with health care organizations and government officials, conferring on medical education reform, and speaking on advances in surgical technique.
