
Carol Michaels, MPH, MCHES, has been named Administrator, Care Coordination, at Populytics, Inc. The company is pleased to bring her knowledge and leadership skills into play as it expands Populytics’ Care Coordination offerings to the Lehigh Valley Physician Hospital Organization/Lehigh Valley Health Network provider and patient community.
Michaels is a Master Certified Health Education Specialist, with experience in strategic planning, operations, business development, and health education. Her 14-year+ health care career includes nearly 10 years dedicated to Valley Preferred, BeneFIT Corporate Wellness, and Populytics. She served most recently as Director, Health Promotion and Wellness with BeneFIT, and as Interim Director of the Care Management Department at Populytics.
Michaels’ new role integrates leadership and operations of the Populytics BeneFIT Corporate Wellness and Care Management departments, including the LVHN self-insured health plan of 25,000 lives; directing utilization management, case management, and disease management; collaborating on strategies for using predictive modeling analytics to refine care management processes; supervising a multidisciplinary clinical team of nurses, health educators, health coaches, project managers, and administrative staff; and other responsibilities contributing to quality program development.

Michaels earned her master’s degree in public health from the University of North Carolina, Greensboro; her bachelor’s degree from Bucknell University in Pennsylvania; and has received numerous honors in her field. They include the recent “Top 40 Under 40” award from Lehigh Valley Business, which recognizes young professionals for their commitment to business and the community. Michaels is a member of four professional health care organizations, has been featured in numerous publications, and contributed to peer-reviewed publications in 2013 and 2008.
