BeneFIT Corporate Wellness, regional provider of workplace health and wellness services, sponsored an award for corporate leaders who are taking a pro-active role in promoting employee well-being and a healthy workplace culture. The Leadership in Wellness Recognition award subcommittee, and composed of eight additional members, sought to recognize executive leaders at Lehigh Valley Business Coalition on Healthcare (LVBCH) member companies for their innovation, dedication, and contribution to the success of their organization’s corporate wellness program.
Greene presented the inaugural award at the LVBCH Annual Conference, May 3, 2018, held at DeSales University, Bethlehem, Pa. The winners were three local business leaders:
Deborah Faulkinberry, Managing Director, Gross McGinley, LLP, Allentown; Terry Capuano, Executive Vice President, Chief Operating Officer, Lehigh Valley Health Network, Allentown; and Richard F. King, Chief Financial Officer, Schlouch Incorporated, Blandon.
The award is designed to continue to motivate employers to consider ways to improve the health of their workforce year after year. As seen in results from a Rand Health* study from 2013 that says, “Evidence from case studies suggests that for programs to be a success, senior managers need to consider wellness an organizational priority to shift the company culture. Buy-in from direct supervisors is crucial to generate excitement and connect employees to available resources.”
