Four New Directors Announced in Populytics Technology Sector

With a history of data analytics expertise, strong leaders will head up analytics, engineering, and clinical and business intelligence

Populytics, Inc., leading provider of employer health solutions and wholly owned subsidiary of Lehigh Valley Health Network (LVHN), has named several of its staff to new positions in its leadership circle. With a history of data analytics expertise, the company assists employers in realizing efficiencies through healthier, more productive employees. Recent promotions include:

Neil Emery

Director of Business Intelligence and Development

Neil is in charge of the development and governance of the architecture to integrate business intelligence applications and analytics directly into Populytics’ analytics health care models. Leveraging his expertise in Tableau software, big data tool stacks, and programming and query language, he is responsible for leading his team in the configuration and administration of analytics systems; the development and use of databases, data marts, reports, and dashboards; and the governance of quality data systems to ensure accurate and consistent results. He spent more than 10 years with Populytics in various roles and several years with Lehigh Valley Physicians Group as a financial planning analyst. Prior to that he served in director and manager positions for companies in Montgomery County, PA. Neil holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration, finance, and a master’s degree in business administration, healthcare management, from Walden University, Minneapolis, MN.

Jason Ebersole

Director, Software Development

Jason leads the team responsible for the design, development, deployment, and maintenance of a suite of full-stack web applications in support of Populytics and its clients. Jason and his team work with leadership in Lehigh Valley Health Network (LVHN) and its numerous divisions, providing custom applications for population health management, provider tracking, provider profiling, provider wellness, and the clinician incentive program. Jason’s previous roles with LVHN and Populytics include Analyst/Programmer, Lead Full Stack Web Developer, and most recently Manager, Software Development. One accomplishment was building the Secure Provider Portal, a custom website and tool that physicians, health care providers, and office managers utilize to view the organization’s incentive results and metrics. It now includes executive summaries, documentation metrics, quality outcomes, and workflows that allow more efficient tracking of quality metrics by providers and leadership. Jason earned his bachelor’s in computer science with a mathematics minor from DeSales University.

Rich Fotiades

Director, Data Engineering

Rich leads the team responsible for the development and optimization of “big data” data pipelines, architectures, and data sets utilized for population health management, provider incentives, clinical initiatives, medical expense budget tracking, and other applications. Rich and his team extract, normalize, and aggregate data from a wide variety of disparate data sources including payer attribution, medical and pharmacy claims from payers, quality data from various EMRs, and provider tracking systems. Once integrated, these data sets are used across the Lehigh Valley Health Network (LVHN) enterprise by colleagues in numerous departments and divisions for a host of workstreams and applications. With a bachelor’s in computer engineering from Lehigh University, Rich developed his expertise with medical and pharmacy claims with Spectrum Administrators (SAI), forerunner of Populytics, beginning in 2004. Previous roles at Populytics have included Applications Specialist, Healthcare Data Management Specialist, Lead Data Engineer, and most recently Manager, Data Engineering.

Nicole Longbons, MBA, CHD

Director of Clinical and Business Analytics

Nicole oversees the value-based analytics that support payer contracts, clinical initiatives, care management workflows, and quality initiatives across the organization. Working directly with clinical leadership, she is responsible for leading her team in generating, integrating, and translating insights and analytics into growth opportunities and tactics that shape decisions and drive organizational action. Nicole has more than 20 years of experience in health care analytics and has been with Populytics since 2013 in various leadership roles. Prior to joining Populytics, Nicole worked as an analyst for Lehigh Valley Health Network and Janssen Pharmaceutica, a Johnson & Johnson Company, focusing on clinical and business solutions. Nicole holds a bachelor’s degree in management science and information systems from Penn State University, University Park, PA, and a master’s degree in business administration, healthcare systems, from De Sales University, Center Valley, PA.
